BERTHA ROBINSON

Bertha B. Robinson was born to the union of Isom Butler and Lelar Walker (Doll) on September 26, 1937 in Burleson County.

Bertha gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with Elm Grove Baptist Church of Marlin, TX.

Bertha had a passion for sports, loved softball and she was a majorette.

Bertha united in marriage to her soulmate, Robert Robinson. They enjoyed 52 years of what was described as a “marriage match with a divine connection.” What a glorious journey they enjoyed as they grew and worked together to become one. They both took great pride and gave much love in the rearing of their four children. They also helped in rearing of several nieces and nephews on both side of the family including letting other relatives stay periods of time with them. Later extreme joy would come as they extended their roots to that of being proud grandparents and then great grandparents.

What explicable joy the Robinson couple modeled in the marriage and parenting “until death do us part.” She found great entertainment in just spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bertha and Robert moved to Dallas after getting married where she worked and went to school for her Associate Nursing Degree at El Centro Community College. After advancing her career she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 32 years. She then began working for Bank of America in Richardson, TX. After retiring, she later worked for Golden Gate Funeral Home until her health failed her. She united with Greater Sunrise Baptist Church of Dallas, TX.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2018, this servant of God joined the one who was present when the morning stars sang together and the sons of God shouted for joy “Servant of God, well done praise be they new employ as eternal ages run, rest in they Savior’s joy.”

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Robinson; parents, Isom and Lelar Butler (Doll), son, Alonzo C. Robinson, daughter, Charlotte A. Robinson, three sisters, Bell Crowder, Goldie Shaw and Ruby (Faye) Bell.

Until the day that we shall all come into the fullness of Christ, cherishing her memories are: daughter, Wandrette Gail Robinson of Dallas, TX; son, Terance Ray Robinson Sr. (Wanda) of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Acquinette Vannoy of Seattle, WA, Carstanua Robinson, LaShunda Garlon both of Dallas, TX, Latrisha Cherr’ae Smith of Duncanville, TX, Terance Robinson Jr. of Dallas, TX, Shermeon Tasby of Glenn Heights; LaFoya Robinson (J.
