BOBBY MCGEE

January 25, 1957 — May 20, 2018

Bobby Rose McGee was born on January 25, 1957 to the late George William Smith and Earline Virginia (Kennedy) Smith in Gary, Indiana. She  was raised in Princeton, Louisiana where  she  attended  public  school.

Bobby met the love of her life Bobby McGee, and the two were  joined together in matrimony on November 18, 1987.

Bobby has resided in Dallas for over 34 years. She was employed by the Dallas County Sheriff's Department for the past 21 years. She loved her job and was highly respected and loved by those she worked with.

Bobby was a faithful and active member of Rehoboth Temple of the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Pastors David & Joella Floyd for the past 8 years. "Sis. McGee," as she was affectionately called at her church, was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. She served faithfully in Hear The Word media department, as well as helping in hospitality whenever she was needed.

Bobby loved God, her family, her church family, her co-workers and friends. She was known as the "Family Comedian" and loved to make everyone laugh. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was always willing to help others in any way she could. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, counselor and confidant to many.

Bobby was granted her heavenly wings on Sunday, May 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Earline Smith; two brothers, George Steve Smith and Marvin Wayne Smith; one sister, Kathryn Elaine Watson.

Bobby leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 34 years, Bobby McGee; one daughter, Candyce Smith; four sons, Ramario Smith (Kathryn), Tyrone McGee, Kendrick McGee (Kisha), and Terrance McGee; grandchildren, Michael Hayes, Jaida Rodgers, Tyrone McGee, Jr., Ramario McGee, Maliyah Smith, Ramario Smith, Jr., Kendrick McGee, Jr., Terrance McGee, Courtney Caldwell, Nekeba Berryman, Kailyn Ware, and Quintin Nixon; two sisters, Phyllis Brown (Roderick) of Bossier City, LA, and Karen Battie (Cleavon) of Killeen, TX; three brothers, Victor Smith of Princeton, LA, William Russell Smith (Leslie) of Atlanta, GA, and Stacy Smith (Rena) of Princeton, LA. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that she so loved.
