GEORGIA BARRETT

Georgia Mae (Kelley) Barrett, was born in Palestine, Texas, on April 22, 1921, to the parents of George and Hester Kelley, who preceded her in death. She received her education in Palestine, TX. She received Christ at an early age and became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Palestine, TX. She married Auther D. Barrett in 1939, and five children were born from this union. They later moved to Dallas, TX. In 1950, Georgia Mae Barrett became a faithful member of Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. L.B. Moss.

Georgia Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Auther D. Barrett; two sons, George Auther Barrett and Willie C. Barrett; two daughters, Mary Etta Hughey and Hester Mae Rockmore; grandson, Christopher E. Fridia; and great-grandson, Tobias Auther D. Mackey.

Our beloved Georgia Mae Barrett “MawMaw” departed this life on Wednesday June 6, 2018.

Georgia Mae Barrett “MawMaw” leaves to  cherish her memories: her daughter, Mildred (Willie) Fridia; goddaughter, Rose (Charles) Hollins; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Barrett; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren, D’Neko Wilson and Abel Mackey; a very special family that she loved as much as she loved her own family, the Robnett Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
