James Jackson, Jr., affectionately known by family and loved ones as “Lil James”, was born to James Jackson, Sr., and Ida Jackson on January 8, 1953, in South Carolina. He and his family moved to Texas when he was very young. James attended Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated in 1971.
