LYMUS CREEKS

December 10, 1941 — September 7, 2018

Obituary
Lymus Creeks was born on December 10, 1941, to
Lewis Creeks, Jr., and Emma Allen Creeks in Anderson, Texas
(Grimes County), and was affectionately nicknamed “Red” by his
mother.
Lymus accepted Jesus Christ as Savior at an early age at Greater First
Baptist Church in Anderson, TX, under the leadership of Rev.
Nelson W. Whiting and Rev. Jesse Bryant Mitchell. He grew up in a
large family on a farmland homestead, and while he loved them
dearly, he often sought out time to be alone. He graduated with a
diploma from Richards Colored High School on May 23, 1962,
where W. E. Hall was the principal.
As an adult, he relocated to Dallas, TX. Early on, he worked at
Titches and Joske’s, eventually retiring from Ecolab in
Garland, TX, as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk with 30 years of
service. At age 31, he married Myra Denese Creeks and a
daughter and son were born from this union. Later, at age 48, he
married Mae Ausby, to which a precious daughter was born, and a
beloved stepson was welcomed.
Lymus Creeks transitioned to eternal life on September 7,
2018. He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife,
Mae Ausby; five brothers, Howard, Richard, Andrew,
Allen and Joe Creeks; and two sisters, Myrtle Creeks Haynes
and Sarah Creeks Stafford.
Lymus is survived by his daughter, LaNesha Renee’ Creeks,
and son, Brandon Cordell Creeks (Carmelina), both of Dallas
TX; daughter, Jasmine Renee’ Creeks of Houston, TX; stepson,
Sammy Douglas of Navasota, TX; two step-grandchildren, Brook
Robinson III and Mychael Childers; three brothers, Willie
Creeks (Bobbie) and Douglas Creeks, both of Navasota, TX,
and Clifford Creeks, Sr. (Dorothy) of Dallas, TX; two sisters,
Dorothy Manning (Eldridge) of Navasota, TX, and Emma
Jean Johnson (Lee) of Stafford, TX; and a host of nephews other relatives.
