AARON ELLIS WILLIAMS SR

May 9, 1953 — November 5, 2024

Aaron Ellis Williams Sr. was born May 9, 1953 in Dallas, Texas. He was the first-born and only son to Elbert Weaver and Illa Juanita Williams. 

 He attended Roosevelt High School where he was a member of ROTC. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1971. Following legacy, he joined the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marine’s he earned weaponry honors as a Sharpshooter (Rifle) and received a Good Conduct Medal. He worked in the military as an Aviation technician.

 Aaron met and married his high school sweetheart Leona Hunt. To this union was one son, Aaron Ellis Williams II (Gus). After military life, he resided in Dallas, Texas where he worked at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (Dallas). 

 At an early age Aaron dedicated his life to Christ. As a youth he attended St. Paul United Methodist Church and later transitioned to St. Luke United Methodist Church. He attended many churches during his adulthood in the Dallas area, and you could find him with his bible in hand. In the community he was well known and was called “The Governor” a name he wore proudly. One of his most famous quotes, “Do you Understand the Magnitude of the Situation?” He was a giving man and wanted to see people smile. He helped those around him and held a listening ear to others in need.

 Preceding him in death is his mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, great aunt; two aunts, Christine Hester and Hattie Williams; two beloved sisters, Vickie Lynn Weeks-Fields and Annita Levette Williams; and a niece, Illa Vannessa Fields.

 His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife, Leona Hunt (separated); son, Aaron Ellis Williams II (Gus); bonus daughter, Quashonda Williams; grandson, Aaron Ellis Williams III (Big Tyma) and Aariyus Williams (PremRo); granddaughter, Aariyuna Williams (Annie Mae); great-grandchildren Sage Elise Williams and Aaron Ellis Williams IV (Tommy); one aunt Fannie Mae Smith; four nieces, RaQuita Lee (Alphonse), Tina Williams, Ebon’e Dobson (Jay), and Amanda Williams; one nephew, Major Williams (Aja); three cousins, Marcus Hester, Michael and Keith Smith; a host of family and friends.
