ADDIE JUANITA CARROLL

September 14, 1955 — January 21, 2024

Addie Juanita Carroll, a beloved member of our community, passed away on January 21, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born to the late Roland, Jr. and Gracie (Wimes) Sims, on September 14, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Addie was a 1974 graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne and retired in 2017 from T.G. Terry Elementary School in Dallas. Addie lived a life filled with love, joy, and a passion for family and fashion.

Addie was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord, testified of His goodness, and shared the gospel with those she encountered. She loved singing gospel throughout her lifetime, and one of her favorite songs to sing was, “When I See Jesus.” Based on her personal relationship with the Lord, we are confident that she is in His presence! Addie also served gracefully in ministry alongside her husband, Rev. A.O. Carroll.

Addie was known for her impeccable sense of style and her many elegant, and eye-catching hats. She held a deep appreciation for the art of fashion and used it to express her vibrant personality. Her unique fashion choices were always admired by those around her and served as an inspiration to many.

As much as Addie adored fashion, her heart belonged to her family. She valued the bond they shared and cherished every moment spent together. Family gatherings were a source of immense joy and happiness for Addie. Her warm and welcoming nature made these moments even more special as she ensured that everyone felt loved and included.

Beyond her fashion-forward persona and devotion to family, Addie possessed an inner strength that served her well throughout her life's journey. She faced challenges head-on with resilience and determination. Her unwavering spirit became an inspiration to others who witnessed her grace in times of adversity.

Throughout the years, Addie touched countless lives with her kindness and compassionate nature. She was always the first to offer a helping hand or lend an open ear to those in need. Her selflessness endeared her to many who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this remarkable woman.

As we celebrate her life, let us find solace in knowing that she has left an indelible impact on us all. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life will forever be engraved in our hearts.
