🌿 In Loving Memory of ALAFIA BEATRICE GLORIA JACKSON July 11, 1928 – April 10, 2025

It is with profound sorrow and deep gratitude to God that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Alafia Beatrice Gloria Jackson, who transitioned peacefully on April 10, 2025, at her home in Dallas, Texas, USA, at the age of 96.

Formerly of 23 Signal Hill Road, Congo Cross, Freetown, Mummy was a woman of grace, purpose, and unwavering commitment to service. She was the former Registrar of Nurses and Midwives, a teacher at The Methodist Girls’ High School, a founding member of The Children’s Home, a Foundation Fellow of the West African College of Nursing and a proud member of both the Mother’s Union and the Annie Walsh Memorial School Old Girls Association.

She now reunites with her beloved husband, the late Joseph Patrick Quasie Jackson.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Yinka and Tony, her son-in-law Amadu Massally, daughter-in-law Victoria Johnson, her six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends whose lives she touched with dignity and devotion.

In accordance with her wishes, Mummy will be laid to rest in Freetown, Sierra Leone, her ancestral home. On May 2, 2025.

Mummy was not just the heart of our home—she was home. Her wisdom guided us, her warmth uplifted us, and her spirit shaped generations. Her legacy is not only remembered—it is lived.

As we grieve her passing, we also rejoice in the extraordinary life she lived—a woman deeply loved, and a legacy that endures.

Funeral and Burial in Freetown, Sierra Leone is planned for Friday, May 2, 2025.
