Alicia's journey began in the halls of Gilmer High School, where her talent shone on the basketball court, setting a standard for what hard work and dedication could achieve. She went on to earn a degree with honors, graduating magna cum laude from Prairie View A&M University. Her professional path as a government contract negotiator was not merely a job; it was a testament to her sharp intellect and tireless effort, traits that endeared her to all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Throughout her life, Alicia was known for her indomitable spirit. With a personality that seamlessly blended humor and fortitude, she was the cornerstone of her family and the very heart of her community. A firm believer in standing by her convictions, she was the go-to person for advice, support, and laughter, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Alicia nurtured bonds of sisterhood that lasted a lifetime, fostering community pride and empowerment. Her greatest legacy, however, lies in her children—John Hightower (Shante), James Hightower, II, and Sharyna Hightower—who carry forward her spirit of service and devotion.

Alicia found joy in the simple pleasures of life; yard work and sewing were among her cherished pastimes, often punctuated by the energy of family reunions that she so passionately coordinated. Her love for decorating reflected her vibrant personality, while her loyalty to her favorite basketball and football teams showcased her competitive spirit.

She leaves behind her loving husband, James Hightower, who shared in her dreams and aspirations, along with her adoring children, who will forever cherish the memories woven into the fabric of their lives.
