In the gentle embrace of the world, Andrea Abigail Pina Cortez graced us with her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter from October 21, 2011, until her untimely departure on April 12, 2025. At just thirteen years of age, she illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know her, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, joy, and unforgettable memories.
A cherished daughter to Juan Vicencio Pina Herrera and Monica Noemi Cortez Arecha, Andrea was a beacon of kindness and warmth, her heart as expansive as the sky above. She was not only a loving sister to Adrian Dario Pina Cortez and Leila Sofia Pina Cortez but also a beloved granddaughter to her devoted grandparents, Chuya Arecha and Abel Cortez. In the cherished company of this close-knit family, Andrea thrived, embodying the spirit of togetherness and joy. Her essence was one that drew people in, with her welcoming personality and a great sense of humor that could spark laughter in the most somber of moments.
As a student at Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Middle School, Andrea’s enthusiasm for learning mirrored her passion for life. Her innate ability to connect with others shone brightly, fostering friendships that would last a lifetime. Her talents extended beyond academics; she danced through life itself, immersing herself in the rhythms of music. Indeed, she found solace and expression in the art of dance, where every movement was an echo of her vibrant, spirited soul.
Andrea’s love for family was profound, her happiest moments spent surrounded by those she held dear. Each gathering became a celebration, filled with laughter and the creation of cherished memories. To Andrea, family was not just a word, but a treasure, a network of support that defined her experiences.
Her warmth left an indelible imprint on her family and many friends. Each shared moment can be recalled with the radiance of her smile—a smile that could light up even the darkest of days. Though her time with us was far too brief, Andrea Abigail Pina Cortez will forever remain an emblem of joy, a dancing light in our hearts, and a reminder of the beautiful connections we share.
As the chords of her favorite music still echo in the lives of many, we honor the precious time we had with this extraordinary girl, holding fast to the love that transcends time. Andrea may have departed from this world, but her spirit dances on in the memories she created and the love she shared.
