ANTHONY RAY CHATMON

September , 1961 - January 8, 2024

Anthony Ray Chatmon, a beloved husband, father, sibling, and friend, passed away on January 8th, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Born on September 24th, 1961 in Rockwall, Texas to L.C. and Clareece Hopkins Chatmon, Anthony lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit.

Anthony's journey began in the picturesque town of Rockwall. Raised by his loving parents alongside his brother Gregory K. Chatmon and sister Cassandra Green, he grew up surrounded by the warmth of family bonds. From an early age, it was evident that Anthony possessed charm and charisma that could light up any room. His big bright eyes were a true reflection of the vibrant soul within him.

His education was nurtured in the halls of Rockwall ISD where he developed not only an appetite for knowledge but also a hunger for life's adventures. He embraced every opportunity that came his way with enthusiasm and determination.

After completing his education, Anthony embarked upon a successful career as a truck driver. He dedicated many years of service to Wholesale Foods and Mim's Food companies. His dedication and professionalism earned him the respect of his colleagues and friends.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Anthony will always be remembered for his larger-than-life personality. Outspoken and full of life, he had an infectious zest for living that touched everyone he encountered. His corny jokes brought laughter to the darkest days and his wise words offered guidance when it was needed most. Anthony's love for life was truly contagious.

In 2012, Anthony found the love of his life when he married Pamela Chatmon. Their union became a testament to commitment and unwavering support for one another. He was blessed with three wonderful children—Anthony Cosby, Ashley Chatmon, and Zanata Luke. Anthony poured his heart and soul into being a loving father, always ensuring that his children knew they were deeply cherished.

Anthony also reveled in the joys of being a grandfather. With five grandchildren, he embraced the role of "Papa" with unbridled joy and adoration. From playful adventures to heartfelt conversations, he created memories that will be treasured by his grandchildren forever.

Throughout the years, Anthony maintained a strong bond with his sister Cassandra Green. Their connection was one of unwavering support and love, weathering every storm together. They shared laughter, tears, and the unbreakable ties that only siblings understand.

As we bid farewell to Anthony Ray Chatmon, we carry the memories of his vibrant spirit within our hearts. His passing leaves behind a profound void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Yet, it is through these memories and tales that Anthony's legacy will endure.

In honor of Anthony's vivacious spirit, let us remember not the sadness of our loss but rather the celebration of a life lived to the fullest. May his fervor for life serve as an inspiration for us all to seize each day with unwavering passion and love.

Anthony is survived by his devoted spouse Pamela Chatmon, his children Anthony Cosby, Ashley Chatmon, and Zanata Luke, his sister Cassandra Green, and five beloved grandchildren. He is reunited in heaven with his parents L.C. and Clareece Hopkins Chatmon and brother Gregory K. Chatmon.

Though we grieve this immense loss, let us find solace in knowing that Anthony's spirit will forever live on through each life he touched.
