Anthony Bernard Cook's life is measured by the countless hearts he touched, the community he faithfully served, and the enduring legacy of love, laughter, and compassion he leaves behind. On July 16, 2026, Forest Hill and the world lost a devoted public servant, a faithful husband, a loyal friend, and a man whose heart was as big as Texas. Heaven welcomed an extraordinary servant whose life was defined not by what he accumulated, but by what he gave to others.

Yet none of those passions compared to the love he held for his family.

Anthony's love extended deeply to his family, whom he cherished beyond measure. He was a devoted husband, a loving family member, and a fiercely loyal friend whose greatest happiness came from seeing those he loved succeed. Whether offering words of encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply showing up when someone needed him most, Anthony gave freely of himself without expecting anything in return.

Anthony loved the City of Forest Hill—not merely as the place where he lived, but as the community he proudly called home. He believed deeply that a city becomes stronger when its citizens are willing to serve, and Anthony never hesitated to answer that call. He rolled up his sleeves, knocked on doors, listened to his neighbors, and earned the trust and confidence of the citizens who elected him to serve on the Forest Hill City Council six years ago.

Anthony never viewed public office as a position of prestige. To him, leadership meant listening before speaking, serving before being served, and always placing the needs of others before his own. He understood that true leadership is measured not by authority, but by sacrifice, integrity, and the willingness to make life better for someone else.

His legacy reaches far beyond the offices he held or the accomplishments he achieved. It lives in every laugh he inspired, every life he encouraged, every friendship he treasured, and every act of kindness he quietly performed. Anthony's influence will continue to be felt in the City of Forest Hill, among his family and friends, and within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Anthony taught us that life's greatest achievements are not measured by wealth, titles, or recognition. They are measured by the love we share, the people we uplift, the laughter we create, and the difference we make in the lives of others.

Although his earthly journey has ended, his legacy will continue to inspire everyone who knew him. His laughter will echo in our memories. His kindness will live on in the lives he touched. His service will forever be woven into the fabric of the community he loved.
