ANTHONY GIDDENS, born on March 11, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, departed this life on August 8, 2026, in Richardson, Texas. His journey of 74 years left an indelible mark on all who had the blessing to know him. As we gather our memories and mourn his passing, we remember a man whose life was defined by love, conviction, and a singular dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Anthony grew up in Dallas, building a deep sense of place and belonging that never left him. He was a man whose charisma and warmth made him a true people person—he never met a stranger. Honest and straightforward in every encounter, Anthony was known for his loyalty and hard work, traits that touched every area of his life. If you asked him a question, you could be sure you would get the truth—whether you were ready for it or not. A natural storyteller, his tales and laughter filled rooms and hearts, creating memories that linger warmly in those he leaves behind.

His heart belonged first and foremost to his family. For 42 years, Anthony had the privilege and profound joy of being married to Jerelynn. Their marriage was his proudest accomplishment, a partnership rooted in affection and mutual respect. Anthony’s legacy continues through his beloved son, Lamorris Davis, and in the enduring love he showed as a father—a role he cherished with pride and deep commitment.

Family was never a limited notion for Anthony; his circle extended to siblings and relatives, each treasured in their own right. He is survived by his wife, Jerelynn Giddens; his son, Lamorris Davis; his brother, Arnold Giddens; his sisters, Jeanette Drake, Carleen Wynn, Pamela Medford, and Adrienne Pierce; his brothers, Rickey Pierce (Joyce) and Bernard Pierce. Preceding him in death are his devoted mother, Dorothy Davis Pierce, his father, William Andrews, his brother, Donald Giddens, and others dear to him.

A life of accomplishment and service marked Anthony’s professional journey. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy, embodying the integrity and commitment that became his hallmark. After his military service, Anthony earned a spot on the Dean’s List at Eastfield College, a testament to his drive and intellect. He retired from GTE, closing out a career that was defined by hard work and loyalty. Later, he captained 18-wheelers as a truck driver, demonstrating the same diligence and tenacity that characterized his entire approach to life.

Faith played a guiding role throughout Anthony’s life. His love for the Lord provided strength and solace, influencing the compassion and generosity he showed to all. Ever the provider and helper, he was always willing to lend a hand—or share advice, sometimes whether it was requested or not. His honesty and loyalty anchored his relationships and made him a trusted friend and confidante to so many.

As we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life lived fully and generously. Those who knew Anthony will forever remember his courage to speak the truth, his work ethic, and, above all, his unwavering love for his family.

The family invites all who wish to pay their respects to attend a viewing for Anthony Giddens on August 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. A wake will follow from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. Graveside services will be held on August 19, 2026, at 9:15 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
