Born on August 12, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, Aubrey's journey through life was filled with a steadfast and indomitable spirit, marked by his outgoing nature and deep love for family and friends.
A proud graduate of the Class of 1976 from Mitchell High School in Memphis, Aubrey carried the values of hard work and determination throughout his lifetime. He was not just a mentor and a guide; he was a beacon of support to many—a headstrong man with an unwavering commitment to caring for others. His laughter was infectious, and his warmth had a way of wrapping around all who knew him like a favorite quilt.
Throughout his life, Aubrey pursued his passions with vigor. He had an abiding love for sports, ardently supporting the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. His enthusiasm for these teams mirrored his spirited approach to life, as he cherished every opportunity to bond with family and friends over games and shared moments. Traveling to Michigan and Tennessee to connect with loved ones was a joy, a testament to the importance he placed on family ties.
Above all, Aubrey was a devoted father, finding his proudest accomplishments reflected in the lives of his children—Brianna McQueen (Darrien), Nikita Sutton, Quaylon Sutton, Lashonda Sutton, and Rodriqus Nelson He celebrated each milestone, standing by them as a loving support, guiding them like a steady lighthouse amidst life's tides. The legacy of his love extends to his thirteen beloved grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, who will carry forward his spirit of caring and assistance. He also leaves to cherish fond memories, Flora Ellison.
As we bid farewell to Aubrey on November 21, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas, we are reminded of the countless ways he enriched our lives. He is survived by his cherished sister, Deanice Jackson, along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory dear.
Viewing services will take place at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on December 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt wake service at 7:15 PM. The funeral service will commence the next day, December 4, 2025, at New Generation Holiness Church in Garland, Texas, at 3:00 PM, providing a space for all of us to gather, share our stories, and celebrate the profound impact Aubrey had on our lives.
