With aching hearts and tender remembrance, we celebrate the beautiful, all-too-brief life of AUBREY MARIE THOMAS—affectionately known to her loved ones as “Boodie.” Born on April 8, 2019, in Dallas, Texas, and departed from this world far too soon on June 27, 2026, also in Dallas, Aubrey’s radiant spirit forever leaves an imprint upon those blessed to have known her gentle presence.
In her seven bright years, Aubrey’s laughter filled the homes and hearts of her family with a warmth that defied the brevity of her days. Her smile, both shy and sparkling, could light up any room, and it was through her open heart and curious spirit that she forged an irreplaceable connection with everyone around her. Loved beyond measure, Aubrey was a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, a niece—a precious soul surrounded constantly by the unwavering embrace of family.
She is lovingly held in memory by her devoted mother, Asheli Griffin, and her caring father, Shawn Thomas, both of whom cherished every moment and milestone of Aubrey’s childhood. Beside them mourn her adoring sibling: her sisters Alivia Jones, Lashaun Thomas and brother Shawn Thomas, Jr., each of whom shared in the laughter, games, and secrets that make sibling love so boundless and profound.
Aubrey’s circle of loving devotion extends further to her grandmothers, Jennifer Griffin and Debra Thomas, both pillars of nurturing strength and tenderness, and her grandfathers, Otis Collins and Norris Thompson, whose guidance and pride surrounded her always. She was enveloped in the wisdom and stories of her great-grandmothers—Sheryl Griffin, Wanda Collins, and Essie Green—whose affection for “Boodie” will carry on in every cherished family gathering.
Her presence also graced the lives of her uncles, Odarius Griffin and Deyunce Griffins, who held her close in love and playful affection. Though her uncle Jabari Griffin and grandmother Doriscilla Clark has preceded her in passing, Aubrey is surely welcomed into his loving arms once more; their memory together forming part of the gentle legacy she leaves behind.
Aubrey’s young life was a collection of vivid moments—of spontaneous dances in the living room, sunlit afternoons of endless play, bedtime whispers, and quiet hugs that said everything words never could. Those memories now shimmer for her family and friends, painting a mosaic of innocence, pure joy, and hope eternal. Though words cannot fully express the loss felt by so many, neither can they contain the love she inspired, nor the beauty she brought to this world in her all too short time.
To honor and remember Aubrey, viewing services will be held on July 10, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. A wake service will follow on July 10, beginning at 7:15 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas-ALLENE. Funeral services will be held the next day, July 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas-ALLENE.
As we gather, we will celebrate Aubrey’s undimmed light and treasure the small miracles she brought into our world—her laughter echoing through memory, her love resonating within us always. Though we say goodbye for now, her love and spirit burn enduringly bright in the hearts that carry her forever.
