BARBARA DOUGLAS

Barbara Nell Choice was born on September 18, 1955, in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Dolores “Honey” Hart, Billy Carroll and Eddie “Bemma” Moore. She was the second child out of five children. She attended Lincoln High School, where she went on to work for the Dallas Independent School District as well as other employers across the Dallas metroplex. In 1986, she married Carl Douglas and later united with Willie Ellis.

She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Saints Eternity COGIC under the guidance of Reverend Elder Willis. Before her death, she became a faithful member at House of The Lord Church under the leadership of Reverend Timothy Flemings.

Besides Jesus, what she loved most was her family and close friends, all while having a good time. She enjoyed getting dressed, shopping, going to the casino, talking smack, playing knock, and leaving family functions early to go to the game room. She was immensely proud of the big family she created. With her 6 children, 33 grandchildren and umpteenth great-grandchildren, she was a busy lady and never gave those sweet dimples a break.

Gone too soon, she was preceded in death by her mother Dolores “Honey” Hart, father Eddie (Papa) Moore, ex-husband Carl Douglas, grandmother Almeta Cherry, brother Curtis Hart, sister Almeta Lynn Hart, 3 aunts Juanita Jenkins, Bobby Bolden and Debra Ann Choice and one grandchild Amari Choice.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her brother Wesley Wade II (Emma), sister Beverly Sloan (Benny Sr.), uncle Ulysses “Uncle Ula C” Cherry aunt Sherry Choice-McGilvery and six children: Traice Choice Carr (Wayne), Shareece Williams (Jesse Ray), Deatria Choice, Darian Choice, Carlesia Douglas (Marwayne) and Carlendra Douglas. Grandchildren Jameshia L. Parson, James Parson Jr, Jamee Parson, Theodore L. Carr Jr., Dejahn Carr, Dejah Carr, Daneshia Williams (Patrick), Jesse Williams Jr (Stephanie), Jasse Williams, Darius Nash, Shannon Wonzer, Fredaysha Lucky, Fredricka Lucky, Fredeatria Lucky, SirGeorge Guinyard,  LaDarian Choice, LaDarius Choice, SirDarian Choice, Darionta Choice, Darianta Choice, ShaDarian Choice, TraDarian Choice, Darian Choice Jr., Jamarion Choice, RaDarian Choice, Mondarian King Choice, Raleigh Choice, Majesti Berry, Ja’leceia Thompson, Hailee Hemphill, Tobias Hemphill Jr., Anthony Blake Lee Jr., and Ocean Spicer.
