Betty Jean Byrd, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on December 31, 2023, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on July 18, 1948, in Ft Worth, Texas. Betty's loving and outgoing personality touched the lives of all who knew her.

Betty had a passion for cooking and shopping. She could whip up the most delicious meals with love and precision. Her family and friends eagerly looked forward to her culinary creations that brought warmth and joy to their hearts. Whether it was a Sunday family dinner or a holiday feast, Betty's skills in the kitchen were unrivaled.

Beyond her love for cooking and shopping, Betty was a devoted member of St. John Church Unleashed for three decades. Her faith was an integral part of her life and provided her with strength and guidance throughout her journey.

As we gather to remember Betty Jean Byrd, a Memorial Service will be held on January 6th, 2024 at ST JOHN UNLEASHED located at 1701 West Jefferson Street in Grand Prairie, Texas. The service will begin at 3:00 PM  It will be an opportunity for all those whose lives Betty touched to pay their respects and share memories of her vibrant spirit.

Betty's proudest accomplishment was being a dedicated member of St. John Church Unleashed for thirty years. Through her involvement in church activities and community outreach programs, she showed immense compassion and selflessness towards others.

She is survived by her loving husband Hollis Byrd; two daughters Tanya and Dena; son Marcus; 6 grandchildren Kara, Cayman, Marcus, Justin, Mya, and Jasmine; sister Lisa; Her dear mother Clara Johnson, father Elgia Johnson, sister Kimberly, 2 brothers Elgia, Abron, and  Son Hollis preceeded her in eternal life . They formed an unbreakable bond that brought so much joy into Betty's life.

Betty Jean Byrd will forever be remembered and cherished for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her grace, warmth, and genuine care for others left an indelible impact on all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

As we say goodbye to Betty in this earthly realm, let us hold onto the beautiful memories she gifted us. May her spirit soar among the heavens as she reunites with loved ones who have gone before her. We carry her light in our hearts, finding solace and comfort in knowing that her love will forever surround us.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. John Church Unleashed in honor of Betty's devotion to her faith. Together, we can celebrate Betty's life by perpetuating kindness and compassion within our communities, embodying the values that she held so dear.
