Betty Jean Randle Hall was born on May 22, 1932, in Mason, Texas, to Mattie Mason and Jack Russell. She attended Dunbar School in Brady, Texas, where she excelled academically and athletically. Betty especially loved track and field and often said, “No one could beat me,” reflecting her confidence, determination, and competitive spirit.
At an early age, Betty accepted Christ and united with St. James Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. Later, Betty moved to Los Angeles, California. In 1957, she met and later married Frank Hall. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Betty worked for many years at Sonnell’s Greeting Cards and later at Target. She retired in 1970 to care for her beloved husband during his illness.
Frank Hall preceded her in death in 2014. Betty enjoyed cooking and was known for making every meal special. Family members often said she could make anything taste good. Her kitchen was a gathering place filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. In 2015, Betty returned to Texas to be closer to her family and to help care for her daughter. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and treasured her oldest daughter’s cooking.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Her warm spirit, resilience, unwavering faith, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her. On June 4, 2026, Betty peacefully entered eternal rest. She now joins her mother, husband, brother, daughter, grandson, and a host of loved ones who preceded her in death.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her son, Dale (Chandra) Randle; daughter, Delicia Edwards; son, Darrell (Sherry) Hall; special daughter, Nicole Mitchell; sister, Frankie Mitchell; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends from both Texas and Los Angeles, California. Her legacy of faith, perseverance, strength, and devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved
