BETTY ANN SPENCER

Betty Ann Spencer, a beloved and vibrant soul, ascended to the heavens on November 22, 2025, in DeSoto, Texas. Born on July 5, 1949, in Gilmer, Texas, she graced this world for over seventy-six years with her sweet, loving nature and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

Betty was more than just a mother; she was the heart of her family, embracing the role of a proud matriarch with unmatched devotion. Her children — Kristie Rhodes, Nicole Spencer, and son Steven Wright — stand as her greatest legacy, reflecting the values of compassion and kindness she instilled in them. As a proud bonus mother to Marcus Spencer and Angie Shaw, she extended her love even further, inviting warmth and acceptance into the lives of all she cherished. Betty's family tree flourished under her nurturing care, blossoming into 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each one a testament to her boundless love and the vibrant spirit she ignited in their hearts.

Countless memories will linger on with those who had the privilege of sharing their lives with her. Betty was renowned for her dancing, the way she could twirl and sway as if the very music called to her soul. She filled homes with laughter, warmth, and the irresistible aroma of her delightful cinnamon spice cake, a legacy of her baking skills which many will cherish forever. Her love for blues music resonated in her home, creating a welcoming atmosphere that drew friends and family together to share stories and create lasting memories.

Despite the inevitable challenges of life, Betty remained a sweet, funny woman, always willing to lend a hand to others. Her spirit carried resilience that would brighten the darkest of days. She was a beacon of laughter and joy, a reminder of the simple yet profound beauty found in human connection, shared joy, and the art of living fully.

As we gather to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, we will remember the love she poured into every aspect of her life and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Services to honor Betty Ann Spencer will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The viewing will take place on December 12, 2025,  2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on December 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, allowing us all a moment to cherish her memory and say our goodbyes.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Spencer, Jr, son, William Wright; brother, Mark Williams; and her parents, Jack Henry and Bernell Williams. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of love woven through the lives of those she adored, a family who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her essence will continue to dance in the memories of her family and friends, and her legacy will shine brightly through the lives she touched.
