BRENDA FLOURNOY GREEN

October 9, 1950 — July 25, 2025

Brenda Flournoy Green, a beacon of kindness and faith, journeyed home to be with the Lord on July 25, 2025, in Irving, Texas. Born on October 9, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, her life was woven into the fabric of her community, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Brenda dedicated herself to a career in the warehouse industry, where she held several positions with unwavering diligence and grace. Her commitment extended beyond her professional life; for eleven treasured years, she brought joy and an infectious spirit to her role at the State Fair of Texas, savoring every moment surrounded by laughter and merriment, until the tides of health pressed gently against her.

A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Brenda later attended Liberty University for three years, embodying a spirit of learning that colored her interactions and informed her perspectives. She was not just an employee but a cherished friend and confidante to many, her sweetest essence emerging from a heart that beat with a profound love for God.

Those who encountered Brenda witnessed the warmth of her spirit, the way she effortlessly uplifted others with her kindness. She was revered as “the sweetest person ever,” a title that resonated deeply with her family and friends alike. Her days were filled with sacred moments in church and the joyous atmosphere of the State Fair—events that mirrored her vibrant zest for life.

Brenda leaves behind her beloved spouse, Jim Green, and their precious children: Kimberly, Kent Hayes, Brandon Hayes, Myron Flournoy, and Edmond Flournoy. The family tree flourished with 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, each one a testament to her legacy of love and nurturing spirit. Siblings Clifford, Donnie, Dale, Arlen, Tammy, and Alma Jo stand as reminders of the close-knit family bonds that enriched her life.

She is reunited in eternal rest with her dear mother, Doris Steen Walton, and father, Earl Walton; her husband, Deweyl Flournoy; granddaughter, Myla Flournoy; and brothers, Mario, Winfred, and Charles—now cherished members of the heavenly chorus alongside her.

As friends and family prepare to honor Brenda’s beautiful life, viewing services will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on August 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at Golden Gate Funeral Home on August 9, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, where her legacy of love and faith will be celebrated in the embrace of those whose lives she touched.
