CAROLYN RUTH PRICE

Carolyn Mopping Price, born on November 27, 1942, departed this life on February 9, 2026. A beloved matriarch, Carolyn leaves behind a remarkable legacy characterized by her outgoing spirit, deep love for family, and unwavering support for her community.

Carolyn was a nurturing presence to all who knew her, making everyone feel special and valued. She was not just a mother, but also a grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, classmate, and a cherished friend. Her home was a haven, where many generations found guidance and warmth under her roof.

Known internationally as the Dallas Cowboys' number one fan, Carolyn's passion for the team was unmatched. She played a pivotal role in the history of Cowboys fandom, famously inventing the Dallas Cowboys tailgate in 1965. Since 1980, she attended training camps, proudly showcasing her loyalty and love for the team. Carolyn believed fully in her motto: “God, family, and the Cowboys in that order.”

A graduate of Booker T Washington High School's class of 1960, Carolyn was not only a dedicated sports enthusiast but also a pillar of her community. She was the author of “Priceless Dream,” a testament to her creative spirit and insights into life. Her vibrant personality and unyielding commitment to those around her touched countless lives.

Services will be held as a celebration of her life, starting with a Viewing on February 20, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, From 3 PM - 8 PM February 20,2026 followed by the Funeral Service on February 21, 2026, at IBOC at 11:00 AM. Carolyn Mopping Price’s legacy will continue through the love and memories she imparted to all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
