Charles Martin Caldwell ll was born April 1, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Charles Martin Caldwell l and Jean Caldwell-Barnes, and died suddenly on May 31, 2021, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was a loving child who had a smile that could melt any heart. His bigger than life personality and quick wit made him the class clown, jokester, and a friend to many.
He professed Christ at an early age at Greater New Hope Baptist Church under Rev. John G. Mackey. He was taught the ABC’s of salvation by Sis. Alma Jewel
Pryor in the Children’s Church Department of New Birth Baptist Church where he was baptized and continued his Christian education under the teaching and preaching of founding pastor, the late Dr. George W. Pryor. In 2007, he united with Church of the Living God under the pastorage of Bishop C.C. Berry, Jr.
Charles was a member of the 1988 class of South Oak Cliff High School. He was a standout athlete in both football and basketball, and a proud Golden Bear. After graduation, Charles attended Cedar Valley Community College before enlisting in the US Navy where he saw active duty as a veteran of Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf War.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Martin Caldwell l; his great- grandmother, Lillian Griffith; his grandparents, Raymond Andrews and Orene Weems Andrews; his great-aunt, Annie Patterson; and his grandson, Kendric Charles Tryon.
To treasure their personal memories, Charles leaves: his mother, Jean Caldwell- Barnes; his brother, Willie Tatum (Rene); his companion, Shae Simpson; his 6 children, Feleseya Roberts (Bruce), Christen Caldwell, CaShala Caldwell, LaDon Holder, Taylor Davis, and Charles Caldwell; his 2 grandchildren, Wendy Session and Bryce Roberts; his brother-in-love, Jay Barnes; a very special cousin, Tim Anderson; and a very special aunt, Virgie Grant-Brooks. He also leaves many cousins, relatives, extended family and friends who loved him dearly and will always cherish his memory.
