Charles Melvin Ray West-Leatch was born in Hawkins, Texas. In 1965, he graduated from Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas. Charles joined the United States Army and was deployed to the Vietnam War, where he developed the nickname "LONE WOLF". When he returned home, he spent most of his career driving 18-wheeler trucks for various companies. Charles loved deer hunting, traveling state-to-state by vehicle, and dressing in nice suits and hats. Charles took pride in hosting family gatherings filled with food, fun, and laughter. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Forney and volunteered at the Dallas Food Pantry. Charles later settled with the love of his life, Brenda, until his death. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy five daughters, one son, 13 grand-children, three great grand-children, a sister, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends throughout Texas. His parents, a son, and three brothers proceeded Charles in death.
Our family is deeply grateful to everyone who has said a kind word, gave any type of support, the hugs, the check-ups, and mostly the prayers.
