Charlie Ray Skinner was born November 8, 1949 to the parentage of A.C. and Bertha Ross Skinner in Alto, TX. He spent his early childhood years in Avalon, TX before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1963.
He accepted Christ and was led to the Lord by his daughter, Nicole.
Charlie passionately known as "Mule Skinner" graduated f om L. G. Pinkston High School of Dallas, Texas in 1969. He began working for Trailways Bus Lines after high school and was drafted into the U.S. Army.
After serving in the military, he received and an Honorable Discharge and returned to Trailways Bus Lines. Trailways were bought out by greyhound and he worked there 46 years as a diesel mechanic before retiring in 2014.
In 1985, Skinner launched is own company, Skinner's Home Remodeling. He was a true carpenter, and he loved what he did. Some of his hobbies are building engines, riding motorcycles, farm life, fabricating his own truck" Minnie Me", collecting and assembling model cars, building houses and churches out of popsicle sticks, and occasionally, hitting a tune. Skinner was also known by many as being a jokester.
In August of 1972, he married longtime friend Louise Smith. To this union four children were born.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, A.C. Skinner, sisters Ellie Pyburn and Frances Dartson, and brother Felix Skinner Sr.
Charlie Ray Skinner leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 48 years, Louise Smith Skinner; mother, Bertha Ross Skinner; children in order of birth: daughter, Nicole Smith of Desoto, Tx, son, Darian Skinner (Tarsha) of Glenn Heights TX, daughter, Totysa Watkins of Irving, Tx. Son, Tiara "Pnut" Skinner of Dallas, Tx., 19 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 8 Siblings; Vernon Skinner of Dallas, Vivian Tatum of Dallas, Joy Henderson of Desoto, James Skinner of Houston, Arthur Skinner of Overton, Cynthia Dudley of Nacogdoches, Stanley Skinner of Dallas, Carolyn Skinner of Dallas, and a host of other relatives and friends.
