CHRISTOPHER ANTHONY PAYNE, born on August 8, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, departed this world on November 19, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy woven with vibrant threads of love, creativity, and resilience. He was a man of many passions. An outgoing spirit, Christopher reveled in the tranquility of nature, the love of music, and the relaxation of fishing. His profound affection for animals mirrored his gentle soul, embracing the intricacies of life with heartfelt compassion.
Christopher's journey through life was challenging; a proud graduate of South Oak Cliff High School’s class of 1976, he epitomized perseverance and transformation. One of his most significant accomplishments was turning his life around and achieving sobriety—a testament to his strength and determination. In the kitchen, he created masterpieces, with quiche being a beloved dish that filled the hearts and stomachs of those he cherished. A builder at heart, Christopher was very talented working with his hands. During the last two and half years, Chris lived his greatest quality and quantity of life.
Christopher is survived by his devoted mother, Patricia Delight Spinks, who nurtured his spirit throughout his journey. He leaves behind three children, DeLana Carter, Christopher Jr., and Christopher III, who carry forward his legacy. He is also remembering him with love by his sister, Dora Payne, and two brothers, Dale and John Payne, nine grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
As we gather to celebrate the life of CHRISTOPHER ANTHONY PAYNE, friends and family are invited to reflect on the joy he spread in his years with us. Viewing will take place on November 28, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas. A wake service will follow the same day at the Greater Shiloh MBC at 6:00 PM. The culmination of this tribute will be a heartfelt funeral service on November 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where his family and community will gather to honor a life well-lived, to remember the laughter shared, and to celebrate the profound impact he made in the hearts of many.
Christopher’s indelible spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those he loved and inspired, his memory a soothing balm against the sorrows of loss, a reminder that true love transcends even the finality of life.
