CHRISTOPHER TASBY

March 4, 1963 — January 28, 2020

Christopher Barnard Tasby was born to the parentage of Eugene Tasby and Marjorie Jackson-Tasby in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 4, 1963.  His family later moved to Dallas, Texas and joined Greater South Central Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. A.L. Bowman.  They later united with New Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. E. Price.

Christopher graduated from Lake Highlands High School where he was a member of the varsity football team.  He attended Henderson State University. He then met and married Kimberly Gray and three sons were born to this union. After college graduation, Christopher decided to join the Air Force where he served for 10 years.  At that time, he was forced to retire due to medical reasons. He later resided in Arizona where he met and later married Clarice R. Shephard.  There were no children born to this union.  Although this marriage did not survive, Clarice remains a special part of this family today.  A few years later, he met and married Rosie Lee Johnson who preceded him in death.

Christopher most cherished employment was the family business “Brook Hollow Trucking, Inc.” He began as a trainer for loading and unloading trucks.  Due to Chris’ eagerness to learn the business, he was quickly promoted to Operations Manager. His employment history also included a managerial position at Walgreens and a driver for Schneider Trucking Company.

Christopher will be remembered most by his calm and comforting demeanor.  He also had a radiant smile, always willing and ready to offer a helping hand. He loved people and touched many lives.  He truly enjoyed playing dominoes and pool.  He also loved writing books, articles and short stories. While Chris loved his father very much, he and his step-mother, Louise had an extra special relationship that was an unbreakable bond.

Loved ones who have gone on before and are waiting to welcome Chris home:  his mother – Marjorie Jackson-Tasby, his brothers – Vernon Eugene Tasby and Bobby Ray Tasby; his grandparents  - Ernest and Nola Tasby, L.T. Jackson and Mable Swisher-Nunn.

Christopher leaves to cherish his earthly memories: his sons – Christopher Tasby, Jr., Jonathan Tasby and Joshua Tasby; his father, Eugene Tasby (Louise);  his brothers – Anthony Tasby, Desmond Tasby, Paul Freeman and La’Quentin Calico; his sisters – Meeka Ho (Byron), Cynthia Randle (Edward) and Shashonia Tasby; a host of other loving relatives and friends.
