Clara accepted the Lord in her early teens in McAlester, Oklahoma and strived her best to follow God and what He was calling her to do. After graduating high school, she completed her Bachelor's from Langston University and became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho while attending Langston.
Clara and her husband, Howard, were instrumental and very successful in co-founding several ministries during their lifetime that touched more lives than we will ever know.
Among these ministries were:
"The Community Bulletin: Another Voice is Heard"(as a service to the community of black churches in Abilene, Texas to uplift and encourage the black community in the 1960s), World Missionary Baptist Church, Ekklesia Christian School and Immanuel's Healthcare. She was also a volunteer to several of these ministries. She also worked for Motorola, the Federal Govemment (GSA) and was a teacher at Ekklesia Christian School.
As to the person Clara was...In her last few days, she said, "I just pray that I have done all that God wanted me to do" and she told her children, Dimitri and Michelle to "take care of each other and take care of others." She was a gentle, kind woman that loved God with everything she had. She stood on His Word and challenged all around her to do the same.
She fought a good fight, she finished the course, she kept the faith to the end.
