On March 17, 1944, Mr. C.R. Ross and Mrs. Lillie Green Ross welcomed their one and only son, Clarence Milton Ross, into the Bethel Community of Tennessee Colony, Texas. He was the second child. He was doted on and learned a lot from both of his parents. He was baptized at an early age. He attended the schools of Bethel and Green Bay. After school, he met and married Shirley Nell Johnson. They were married 33 years and they welcomed three children. He worked for the city of Dallas for a number of years. After retiring, he hobbies fishing and was an avid gardener. Like our mother, he was a great cook. I would call on him for pointers as recently as a few weeks ago. He worked on cars until his health started to decline. He was such a loving and caring person. He is and will be really missed.
Our parents, our two sisters, and his sons preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory: his two daughters, Angela L. Ross Hurt of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Lasandra Ross of Dallas, Texas; son, Waylon Gray of Kaufman, Texas; sisters, Lois Ross Dixon of Antioch, Tennessee, Sharon Ross White of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Lorrine Ross Renfrow of Cypress, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; a special friend, William (Bill) Gladney; a special cousin, like a brother, Calvin Edwards, Jr.; and a dear cousin who was always there for him, Carolyn Sue Ross.
A big thank you to his granddaughter and our niece, Zaria Carter Ross of Killeen, Texas. We all love her.
