Clementine Maxey was born March 29th, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Clinton and Merdis Mclendon Maxey. She is a graduate of Pershing High School, Detroit Michigan, class 1962. Clementine accepted Christ at a very young age. She later joined St. Peter’s Primitive Baptist Church where she served as Mother of the Church while also volunteering in a variety of capacities in service to her community. Clementine had an extraordinary career as a skilled employee and was often elected to serve in leadership roles. She was employed by the Ford Motor Company and worked as a Foreman and later served as Union Steward to the UAW. Afterwards, Clementine joined the United States Postal Service where she worked for 19 years before retiring. Clementine enjoyed travel, attending church and visiting the casinos. She had a heart of service and was always willing to help others in need.
She leaves to cherish her sister, Claranese Minifield, Dallas, Texas; aunt, Ruby Hayes Maxey, Omaha, Nebraska; niece, Brenda Jenkins, Dallas, Texas; nephew, James L. Minifield, Jr. Dallas, Texas; cousins, Brian & Donna Gilmore; Detroit, Michigan; cousins, Camera, Shawnta, and Tiffany Gilmore, Detroit, Michigan; cousin, Helen Maxey, Detroit, Michigan; cousin, Albert J. & Riley Grigsby, San Antonio, TX; Doreatha Maxey, Detroit, Michigan; god-sister, Annie Rose Mobley, Cleveland, Ohio; Special Friend, Don Shelton, Jasper, Alabama; and a host of cousins, friends, and family.
She will be missed by all those who came to know and love her.
