Climmie D. Griffin “Madea” was born March 14,1933 to parents Willie Ola Washington and Eli Johnson in Timpson, TX.
Climmie received her formal education in the Timpson Public School District in Timpson, TX.
Climmie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and later joined The House of Refuge in Dallas, TX. To some, she was Ms. Climmie, but to most she was Madea. Madea was a special woman who loved everyone she met. She was well known and loved throughout her West Dallas community. She would not only feed anyone that was hungry, but would oftentimes take them in and nurture them as she would her own. Her loving spirit and willingness to serve others will forever be remembered and cherished.
Climmie D. Griffin “Madea” departed this life on May 11, 2021, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Ola Washington and Eli Johnson; sisters, Mary & Martha Washington, Vera Mae White, Minnie Lee Washington; brother, Robert Washington; Daughters, Diane Johnson and Deloris Griffin; Sons, Kennedy Griffin and Nebraska Scott, Jr.; Grandson, Jabari Lee Scott, and great-grandson, Demonte Bookman.
Climmie leaves to cherish: son, Robert Earl Johnson (Charlene); daughters, Sandra Elaine Walton, Sheila Gay Johnson, Lisa Scott-Otubar, and Felicia Meshell Scott; brother, LB Washington; sister, Annie V. Neal; fourteen grandchildren: Anthony Johnson, Tanya Johnson, Corey Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Sr., Kevin Johnson, Sr., Shireka Wilson, Micheal Scott, Antonio Scott, Carlos Scott, Ashley Scott, Demarcus Scott, Kennedy Donovan, and Jude Donovan; one special goddaughter, Linda Faye Franklin; and a host of other great-grandchildren, family members and friends.
