COREY DÉJUAN HARDAWAY was born February 25, 1981 to Cassandra Hardaway in Dallas, Texas. He received his formal education in the Dallas Independent School District; Graduating from David W. Carter High School in 1999. He was a member of the football, track, and basketball team throughout his high school career. Corey attended Prairie View A&M University where he played football and received academic scholarships. Corey started at Word of Revival Temple serving in the choir. Corey grew up in the Mountain View Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Homer Thomas Sr. He was a minister of gospel at Bear Creek Baptist Community Church under the leadership of Dennis Webb Sr. He was a musician and member for the Community Bible Church under the leadership of Dr. Steve Nutter.
Corey was a God-Fearing man who loved and served all of those around him. Corey lead by example throughout his life. He was a man with integrity and great character. Corey was full of wisdom and always saw the best in others. He was dedicated, loyal and took pride in his work and everything he did. He was the one who prayed and enlighten the room at everyone’s gatherings. He was a strong believer that when you serve and sacrifice everything you are for those in front of you, everything else would fall in place according to God’s will.
Corey DéJuan Hardaway departed this earthly life on March 18, 2021. His loving and precious memories are cherished by his mother, Cassandra Hardaway; brother, O’Bryan (Karla) Hardaway; sister, Chavawn (Kendrick) Hardaway; nephews, MiKale & Mikeel Swan, Mike Smith, O’Bryan D. Hardaway II; grandmother, Emma Hardaway; uncles, Kent Hardaway; aunts, Cathy Hardaway and Carol Ellis; and a number of cousins, other family members, and friends .
