COREY JAMES TODD

August 18, 1994 — October 21, 2025

It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends now gather to honor the life of Dr. Corey James Todd, of Irving, Texas, who transitioned on October 21, 2025, at the age of 31.

As we release Corey to his next journey, we do so with both reverence and love. May the light of his spirit continue to warm every heart he has touched. Though he travels beyond the horizon of our sight, his presence remains deeply woven into the lives of all who knew him: a guiding light in moments of darkness, a quiet reminder of joy, compassion, and the brilliance of possibility.

Corey was born on August 18, 1994, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Thomas Lee Todd and Lynda Joy Bowen. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his parents, and his “Bonus Mom,” Dr. Eureka C. Daye (Sissy) ; his brothers, Charles Edward Jenkins II, Devin, Brant, and Kyle Daye; his grandparents, James and Marie Todd; and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Corey will be remembered for his kind spirit, gentle heart, and the light he brought to every life he touched. His laughter, compassion, and strength will remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

He was preceded in transition by his grandparents Wilmot Marian and Barbara Louise Bowen, and his beloved sister, Chanel Nicole Jenkins.

Diagnosed at six months with Hemoglobin SC Disease, Corey grew up navigating the realities of Sickle Cell with resilience, faith, and extraordinary inner strength. Supported by the steadfast love of his family, he refused to be defined by his illness. Instead, he rose above it - achieving, contributing, and thriving in every space he entered.

Corey graduated with honors as a Distinguished Achievement Graduate from Ranchview High School in Irving, Texas, in 2012. He continued his academic excellence at Xavier University of Louisiana, earning his Doctor of Pharmacy and graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2018. Corey practiced as a Retail Pharmacist at both Walgreens and CVS, and touched many lives through his pharmaceutical knowledge, service, compassion, and care.

A gifted linguist, Corey completed Advanced Spanish Language and Cultural Proficiency studies at Universidad Bolivariana in 2017 and fluently spoke both Spanish and French.

He was honored as Mister College of Pharmacy at Xavier in 2017 and was a Collegiate Member of Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity, Alpha Nu Chapter. As a member of Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Honor Society, Corey served as a French and Spanish tutor from 2012–2017, generously sharing his gifts to uplift others.

Corey’s Graduate Academic Projects at Xavier University included: 1). Computational Investigation of Isoquinoline Alkaloids as Cytochrome P450 Inhibitors; 2). ACCESS PrEP Acceptance of a Community pharmacy Collaborative to Ensure Solutions for Seekers of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis; 3). Isoquinoline Alkaloids and Scaffold Replaced Derivatives as Cytochrome P4501A1*2A Polymorphism Inhibitors; and 4). Selecting The Best Time To START Antiretrovirals with Confidence

Corey lived with a spirit of curiosity, kindness, humor, brilliance, and deep humanity. He leaves footprints of joy, scholarship, compassion, and love.

May his soul find eternal peace in the presence of the Lord, and may his memory continue to be a blessing to all who loved him.
