CORNELIUS JONES

Cornelius “Connie: Jones was born on May 4, 1944 in Longview, TX to Wilson Sr. and Josephine Jones. She was the apple of her mother’s eye and they affectionately nicknamed her “Poodlum” as a child. Connie accepted Christ at an early age. She grew up north of Longview in the Shiloh community and joined Shiloh Baptist Church. Connie later moved to the Campswitch community with her parents.

In 1962, Connie graduated from Weldon High School in Gladewater, TX and she was ready for the world. Connie was hard working and held many jobs. She worked as home health aid for a nursing facility until retirement. Connie was often described as the life of the party. She loved all types of music and was a great dancer. She really cared for her family and friends and many describe her as friendly, giving and loving.

Connie was called home to Glory on May 3, 2022. Family members who preceded her in death were parents Wilson Jones, Sr. and Josephine Jones. Sisters Cordia Jermany, Lurlee Crawford, Lizana Jones, Lula D. Faggett, and Artena Jones. Brothers Wilson Jones, Jr., Pat Jones, Claude Jones, and James Jones.

Connie leaves behind many special family members, close friends, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and co-workers who loved and cherished their special time with her.
