DALE WRIGHT

March 20, 1953 — February 2, 2021

Dale Thomas Wright Sr. was born to the parentage of Curtis & Rosie Lee Wright on March 20, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas. Dale T. as he was often called by family and friends, was raised in the historical Stop Six area of Fort Worth. As a true product of the prominent Stop Six area, he attended the Dunbar pyramids where his love of golf began at the tender age of 12 years old. Dunbar Elementary, Dunbar Middle School and Dunbar High School. Dale being an achiever of goals, he returned to obtain his GED in 1978 but that wasn’t enough for him, he then enrolled in North Texas Christian Academy to receive his high school diploma in 2005. Dale wanted all life had to offer and being the avid scholar of always elevating in life, he returned to education in 2013 obtaining his Associate of Arts degree in  Criminal Justice. Dale’s education didn’t stop there. He recently enrolled in Champion School of Real Estate in 2020 to embark on his career as a real estate agent. Dale was awarded many awards for his love of golf and “creative dressing” such as; Certification of Professional Golfer, Certified Hitter of The Golf Ball, Certified Reader of The Putting Green, Certified Dresser of Men’s Clothing and graduated from The Master Strategic & Golf Course Manager class,

Dale met Renee Jefferson in 1974 and married June 1975. To this union three children were born, Dale T. Wright Jr, Demondre Wright and Ashley Wright.
Shortly after being apart of a mass lay off at Ben E. Keith in 1986, Dale began his career for the FORT WORTH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT as a campus monitor. Dale became a staple at Southwest High School. Mr. Wright as they knew him, began teaching students what he loved most, Golf. The students and staff of Southwest bonded and thought of Mr. Wright as  family until his retirement in 2014. He left behind so many great memories and impacted the students and staff at Southwest High School in such a tremendous way.

Dale loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and attending family events. He never missed an opportunity to love on his family and friends. Having a big personality and love for people, volunteering at Meadowbrook golf course 2 times a week wasn’t enough. Dale entered the work field again as a part time Security Guard until his health began to decline in 2019.



Those left to cherish his memories; His loving children, Dale T. Wright Jr. and Ashley C. Wright; Grandchildren; Tyler Hawkins, Amiya Jenkins, Darrius Wright, Darrien Wright and Zoey Wright; Brothers: Eugene (Earline), Earnest, Donnell, Curtis Jr., Willie J. Wright (Linda) and Micheal (deceased) Sisters; LaVerne Owens (deceased ), LaVera Willis Caldwell, Blanche Lee Norwood and Rosie Marie Wright; Aunt; Lula Mae Washington. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, his Meadowbrook Golf Course family and Southwest High School family who was fond of him and he was also fond of.
