DARRYL POWELL

Darryl Allen Powell was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on September 15, 1963, to his mother Margaret B.  Ferrell and  Father  Jerold  Verge. He was the second youngest of  9 children. Darryl accepted Christ at an early age. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He attended elementary and middle school in Fort Worth ISD and graduated from Polytechnic High school.
He met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Cynthia Bernice Baston. Shortly after graduation Darryl and Cynthia married and celebrated 33 years of marriage with lots of love, fun, and laughter.  In that union of love came two beautiful boys Jamaal and Ramone. Darryl‘s family was his heart's joy; He enjoyed hanging out on the porch talking about sports, laughing, and joking with his sibling, friends, nieces, and nephews.
Darryl was a gifted carpenter and enjoyed building custom furniture pieces. He was employed at Chip’s cabinetry for more than 25 years. Darryl loved playing and watching football, especially his beloved Cowboys. He was passionate about coaching his minor league football teams, caring for and breeding his dogs. Mostly, Darryl enjoyed sitting on the lake with his lady love of fishing.
Darryl and his family were members of New beginnings Baptist Church under the leadership of Donald Rodgers.
Darryl Allen made his transition on December 04, 2021. Preceding him in death were his parents Margaret B Ferrell and Jerold Verge, his beloved wife Cynthia, his sister Barbara Elanie, brother Charles Ferrell, brother Robert Stanley and brother Judas Verge and sister JaVora Verge. He leaves to cherish his memories sons  Ramone (Gabriela) Powell and Jamaal(Comeshia) Wiggins, Granddaughters Jamillie K Wiggins, Saniya Powell, Julianni A Wiggins, Jamara N Wiggins and KennedyPowell ; his Aunt Dixie Jewel, Sisters  Belinda Scott, Jannessie (Donald)Choice, Margaret Ann (Michael) Griffin, Kay Keaton, Jacquita Verge, Jeprise Verge; Sister in law Blanche (Billy)Jordan and Brothers Harold (Robyn) Powell and Gary Ferrell, Jerold (MayPearl) Verge Jr.; Brother in Law Jerome (Demetra) Baston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
