He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Chattam, father Fain Brown, and sister Adria Diane Ross.

David's kindness extended beyond his immediate family; he formed strong connections with friends throughout his life journey. His genuine interest in people allowed him to form deep bonds effortlessly. David was often described as a "people person" who never met a stranger. He approached everyone with warmth and sincerity, making them feel heard and valued through both good times and bad.
