Commander David Lee Woodard, a man who served his country and with unwavering dedication, passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 74. He was known for his 30-year service in the United States Navy, where he displayed courage, honor, and commitment in defending his nation.
Born on December 1, 1949, David led a life filled with love and passion. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, and grandfather. His family meant everything to him, and his presence joy and warmth to their hearts.
Aside from his military service and family, David also had a deep love for music. A talented musician and singer, he found solace in melodies and shared his gift with those around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed the tranquility of fishing, finding peace in nature's beauty.
David's kindness extended beyond his immediate circle as he actively engaged in community work. His selflessness touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and goodwill.
As friends and family gather to honor and remember David Lee Woodard, let us celebrate a life lived to the fullest—a life marked by service, love, and generosity. Though he may no longer be with us physically, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The viewing will take place at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas on Jul 10th from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A wake service will follow at ABUNDANT LIFE COGIC on July 10th at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on July 11th at 10:00 AM at Grace Cathedral Church of God in Christ
David is survived by his loving family members who will cherish his memory forever. May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved deeply and will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
