DAVID YANCY

David Yancy Sr age 61, passed away peacefully on January 12th 2021 at home in Grand Prairie, TX.

David was born October 13, 1959 Born in Ripley, Tennessee to O.C. and Hattie May (Jones) Yancy Sr.
He attended Jennings High School. He dedicated 8 years to Military Service (US Army and National Guard) where he was a Tank Mechanic. He was Honorably Discharged in 1986. David was an owner- operator of D’Squirrel Express for 23 years in Grand Prairie. David was happily married to Lela Yancy who was his Sweetheart and partner in life for over 30 years at the time of his death.

David was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed working on any and all types of vehicles. He will be remembered for being a loving, caring, happy person with a charming personality.

He was survived by his Wife, Lela; of Grand Prairie, TX. Mothers Hattie May Yancy, Marilyn A. Williams, sons David Jr (Selene)., Daniel, Donald; daughter Danial (Lexia Bell), 8 eight grandchildren, 6 siblings, 6 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, best friend Edward L. Bell Jr. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father O.C. Yancy Sr, daughter Aleta A. Horton and sister Debbie Yancy.

A Balloon release was held at 2pm on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at B & E Transportation, 5213 FM 1187, Burleson, TX 76028
