DEBRA GEANETTE TASBY

Debra Geanette Tasby, born Debra Geanette Luckey, entered eternal rest on September 3, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, the city where her life first began on July 9, 1960. She will be remembered as a loving, kind, caring, and compassionate woman whose honesty was unmistakable and whose faith in God remained a steady part of her life.

Debra was born in Dallas and made her life there, building a path shaped by devotion to others. She attended L.G. Pinkston High School and continued her education at El Centro College. Over the years, she worked in childcare and hospitality, fields that reflected her natural warmth and her ability to care for people in meaningful ways.

She was a woman with a strong and memorable spirit. Debra was known for being very blunt, speaking her mind with sincerity, yet always grounded in love. Those who knew her also knew her simple joys: enjoying good food, trying her luck as a lottery player, she loved to make other laugh, and spending time talking on the phone. Above all, the memory that shines brightest is her love for her family, a love that shaped her days and touched the lives of those around her.

Debra is survived by her husband, James Tasby, and their family. She also leaves behind her daughter, Jemetria Gautti, and her grandchildren: Azaria Glaspie, Keosha Perry, Ashley, Ja'Bari Gautti, and Jay'Len Gautti, all of whom were part of the family circle Debra cherished so deeply. She is also survived by her brothers Darryl Luckey, Carl Luckey, Anthony Luckey, and Isaac Luckey; her sisters Patricia Jones, Miriam Henderson, and Tara Anderson; and her aunt, Jacqueline Smith.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Luckey; her father, Clarence Luckey; her mother, Patsy Luckey; and her brother, Clarence Luckey Jr. Their memories remained part of her life and story, and she now rests with those who went before her.

Debra Geanette Tasby will be deeply missed and remembered by all who loved her. Her life was marked by faith, devotion, candor, and care for others. May her family find comfort in the many conversations, shared meals, laughter, and loving moments that will continue to keep her memory close.
