Demedria Monique Telfor was born in Dallas, Texas from the loving parents of Eldora Telfor and Billy Lewis. Demedria attended Lincoln High School. At an early age, Demedria married Michael Blackmon and to this union four children were born, Charmesa J. Blackmon, who preceded her in death, Chateaubriand Blackmon, Tanesha Blackmon and Joshua Blackmon (Marta), and later Benjamin Muhammad was born.
Demedria was a well known beautician in the Grand Prairie/Arlington community where she spent most of her life. Demedria attended Ogle School of hair where she received her Cosmetology License. Demedria enjoyed helping others, so she became an instructor at Ogle. Everyone loved how effortlessly Demedria would take care of their hair making sure it was strong and healthy. Demedria also attended the University of Phoenix to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Maintaining healthy hair was her specialty, so she created “Hair by Demedria” in Arlington, Texas until her sunset.
Demedria was under the covering of Pastor James and First Lady Patrice. Demedria accompanied some of her dear friends at the Transparent Church. Demedria was a woman of faith who never allowed the devil to put her down.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sisters Latara Telfor of Dallas TX, and Vaneta Lewis of California; three brothers Billy Lewis Jr. (who preceded her in death), John Lewis, and Clif Lewis; two grandchildren whom which she adored, Ayden Harris and Avah Blackmon and one grandbaby on the way, Kaia Grace Blackmon; she also leaves a host of nieces, aunts, nephews, and of course her four beautiful children.
Demedria’s long time friends and clients cherished her kind heart and she will truly be missed. Demedria is and will always be known for her strength and pure heart. She fought til God called her into his kingdom... We Love You!!
