With hearts full of love, we celebrate the beautiful life of Dementrial “Stinka”, “DJ”, “Demi” LaShelle Johnson, who graced this world on September 20, 1974, in Paris, Texas. She was the daughter of Willie Nickerson and the cherished daughter of the late Debra Jean Johnson Hollingsworth.
A graduate of Paris High School Class of 1993, Dementrial accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
Professionally, she dedicated much of her career to being a Legal Administrative Assistant. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her colleagues and friends, especially Keisha Hodge, Christopher Slaughter, Jessica Hoffmann, Lori Oliphant, Harriet Tabb, Leah Burton, and Melissa Matthews at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC for the unwavering love and support shown throughout her journey.
Dementrial embraced life with grace and joy. She loved the peace of yoga, the laughter of family gatherings, and the warmth of friendships that sustained her. To know her was to feel her kindness, strength, and love.
On the morning of September 11, 2025, her earthly journey came to a close, and her eternal rest began. She was welcomed into the arms of her beloved mother, Debra Hollingsworth; her grandparents, Wilma and Tommy Anthony, and Robert Johnson, Evelyn and Othave Nickerson; and her niece, Keonta Booker, who all preceded her in passing.
Dementrial’s memory lives on in the hearts of those she loved: her sisters Kenyotta West, Shoranda Hollingsworth, Felicia Farmer, and Simone Nickerson; her devoted aunts Sherry Jackson (Wilburn), Cynthia Johnson, Mattie Polk, Peggy Walker, Linda Hill, Betty White, and Barbara Nickerson; her uncles Todd Johnson, Michael Johnson, Othave Nickerson Jr., and Charles Nickerson; her nieces Jazlyn Ferguson and Zakyah Smith; her nephew Jaylon Ferguson; and her great-nephew Aiden Booker. She also leaves behind close cousins Teneshia Johnson, Courtney Jackson, Michael Watson, and Elizabeth George, along with a host of extended family and dear friends who will continue to carry her light forward.
