DENNIS JAMES TIPTON JR

Dennis James Tipton Jr., affectionately known to many as “Den Den” and “Lil Den,” passed away on September 8, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on April 28, 1976, in Asheville, North Carolina.

Dennis was a man with a big personality, generous and very giving, and unmistakably free-spirited. He lived life on his own terms, bringing his own energy and presence wherever he went. Those who knew him will remember a life marked by movement, music, and joy. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and traveling, embracing the experiences and rhythms that made life vivid and memorable.

He attended Mountain Heritage High School in Burnsville, North Carolina, a place that formed part of the path of his early years before his life carried him onward.

Dennis is survived by his five sisters: Margie Tipton, Tina Bulter, Sherrie Tipton, Terri Laws, and Lanae Taylor. In their bond as sisters, they carry forward the memory of a brother whose spirit was bold, whose heart was open, and whose way of living left a lasting impression.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Tipton Sr.; his mother, Diana Davis; his grandparents, Horace and Margie Tipton and Doss and Gladys Tipton; and his nephew, Zack Hall.

Dennis will be remembered for the life force he brought into a room, for his generosity, and for the independent spirit that defined him. His memory remains in the music he loved, in the miles he traveled, and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
