DONALD EARL RUNNER

As we accept God's sovereign will, we thank him for our beloved Donald Earl Runner, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His journey began in Monroe, Louisiana in 1963 to parents Mr. and Mrs. Ray and Fannie Mae Runner who have both preceded him in death. He will be greeted in heaven by his parents as well as sister Linda Bryant and brothers, Calvin, Robert, and James Bryant. Donald is survived by his wife Kesha Runner, son Adonis, daughter Meagan, step-daughter Rene, and step-son Kelis. His remaining siblings are Jerry Bryant (Jackie), Regina Wingate (Eddie), Cristine Runner, Mary Runner, and Sandra Washington as well as a host of nieces and nephews. God in his infinite wisdom called Don home on July 14th, 2026 after a brief illness. His life was a testament to strength, courage, service, and love and he will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

From an early age, Donald demonstrated a keen sense of duty and commitment, qualities that would define his life's journey. Upon graduating from high school in Monroe, LA, Don joined the United States Army and served for twenty years reaching the rank of First Sergeant. Stationed throughout several cities, he put down roots in Atlanta, GA after retiring from his last duty station, Ft. McPherson in 2006. He loved his country and fought in both Persian Gulf War also known as Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served his country with distinction.

Upon completing his military service, Mr. Runner obtained a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from Columbia Southern University and worked as a contractor in the Middle East for four years prior to transitioning to the private sector, working with The Department of Defense (DCMA) for 17 years as a respected team lead and mentor.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Donald was a man of faith. "Runner" as he was affectionately called, also enjoyed the camaraderie of his Free and Accepted Masonic Brothers.

Runner loved his family. He loved sports. He loved a good drink. He loved life. Known for his crooked smile, big laugh, and penchant for humor, he was endeared to all who had the pleasure of his company. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives.

Family was at the heart of Donald's world. Together for 21 years, he shared a loving marriage with Kesha whom he wed in Atlanta in 2009. They nurtured a family with their son, Adonis and co-parented three other wonderful children, Meagan, Rene, and Kelis. His legacy continues through his children, who carry on with his values and warrior spirit.
