Dorothy Lee Allen, a vibrant soul who graced the world with her presence from October 24, 1952, until November 24, 2025, departed this life leaving behind a legacy woven from love, resilience, and an unwavering spirit of giving. Born in the heart of Dallas, Texas, Dorothy embodied the very essence of her city—warm, welcoming, and filled with life.
She carried herself with an independence that inspired many. Fashionable and lively, Dorothy marked her days with an infectious energy that made every gathering brighter. She was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a God-fearing woman whose kindness seemingly knew no bounds. Her patience and caring nature were hallmarks of her character, ensuring that all who crossed her path felt cherished and valued.
Dorothy's home was a haven filled with laughter, and where the air was always rich with the delightful aromas of her cooking. An artist at heart, she loved to decorate her surroundings, each piece reflecting her unique perspective and artistic flair. Whether it was dancing to the rhythm of her favorite tunes or enjoying time spent shopping, Dorothy embraced life with an open heart—a true foodie who found pleasure in every meal and celebration that brought family and friends together.
Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, a testament to her nurturing spirit that extended into the lives of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. These relationships were not just familial; they were profound connections that carried the deep imprint of love and guidance. As a loving mother to her daughters Alicia Allen, Lakesha Allen, and Roshundria Allen (Gerald), and son Herbert Rodney Allen, she instilled values that will be passed down through generations. Her love will forever resonate in their hearts.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, Pyisha, Lynette, Shay, Keia, Rokedrick, and Imoni; great-grandchildren, Skylah, Nia, Korri, Serenity, Nevaeh, Ayo, Rodney, Ray and Jamiyah as well as two brothers Calvin and Michael Wakefield, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will continue to celebrate her vibrant spirit.
