Dorthy Mae Titus, born February 2, 1954, in Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. She was seventy-two years old.

Dorthy’s life was a testament to dedication and compassion. Raised in Texarkana, she carried throughout her entire life the warmth and sincerity for which her hometown is known. Guided by a steadfast sense of purpose, Dorthy found her calling as a professional animal groomer. Her devotion to the care and well-being of animals was more than a vocation—it was a lifelong passion. In her capable, gentle hands, countless animals found comfort and dignity. Through her work, she touched not only the lives of the animals she cared for, but also the hearts of their grateful owners.

Dorthy’s commitment, kindness, and tireless work ethic earned the respect of her peers and community. Whether she was tending to a nervous puppy or offering guidance to someone seeking advice, she did so with patience and a genuine sense of empathy. Her legacy in the field stands as a testament to the positive impact one person’s kindness can have on both animals and people alike.

Family, friends, and all those whose lives have been touched by Dorthy are invited to honor her memory on the following occasions. A wake and prayer service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Burning Bush Baptist Church, located at 4943 Bonnie View Road, Dallas, TX 75241. The funeral service will take place at the same location on Friday, August 29, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM.
