Douglas Scott Fincher, affectionately known as "Big D," was born on February 25, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on October 22, 2025, in Marietta, Texas. A cherished son, father, brother, and uncle, Douglas's spirit will forever be remembered in the hearts of those knew him.

He received his formal education in Irving, Texas, where he formed many lifelong friendships that reflected his outgoing and outspoken personality. Douglas led a fulfilling career with the City of Irving, where he dedicated himself to the sanitation department for over ten years. His work was more than just a job; it was part of his commitment to his community.

Douglas was a man of adventure, whose passion for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies and interests. He loved fishing, hunting, and spending time on the family property, truly embracing the beauty of nature. He especially cherished the moments spent with his family, crafting memories that would last a lifetime.

Among these treasured memories, one of his son's favorites will always be the day they captured their first deer together—a bonding experience that highlighted the love and guidance that Douglas offered as a father. Another special memory was their first trip to Colorado, where they created lasting adventures in the stunning landscapes of the mountains. Driving the four wheelers through the family property, and ending the day watching the beautiful sunset will always be a fond memory of Douglas' son Scott.

Douglas leaves behind his beloved son, Scott Fincher; his caring father, Kenneth "Ken" Fincher; his devoted brother, Donnie Fincher; his loving daughter, Elizabeth Werning; and his cherished nephew, Donovan Fincher. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Lounsbury, whose love will always remain a guiding force in the lives of his family.

As an adventurous soul, Douglas embraced every moment he had with those he loved. His vibrant spirit and infectious joy will be deeply missed, yet the memories he created will forever warm the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy will live on through the stories shared, the love given, and the countless lives he touched during his time here.
