Drayton David Rias Jr. was born on 03 December 1941. He was the eldest son to the late Drayton D. Rias Sr and Mattie Lou (Sanders). His siblings were Franklin (Elaine) and Mattie Jean Rias.
For the majority of his professional career, Drayton was employed by General Motors’ Detroit Diesel. Barbara Jean (Lee), his first wife relocated to Detroit, MI to join her husband with her son (Michael) from Jackson. They had two additional sons [Darnell (Don) and Jerome (Tim)] in Detroit, MI. He was an artist.
Drayton remarried to Dolores (Windom) in 1997 on Hawaii. They enjoyed bowling, volunteering at the Michigan State Fair and marching in many of the Annual Thanksgiving Day Parades.
From Drayton’s two marriages, he leaves his cherished children; Michael E. Rias (Linda) of El Paso, TX; Darnell (Don) Rias (Arolynn) of San Antonio, TX; and Jerome (Tim) Rias (Dee Antoinette) of Mesquite, TX, Sherry Mahone of Atlanta, GA, Veronica Windom-Patillo (Dwayne), and Floretta Charlene Windom - Watson; grandchildren: Cedric Luster, Jacy Chantiles, M. Emile Rias II, Darnell Rias Jr., Aaron Rias, Adrena Victoria Patillo, Dwayne Javon Patillo, Troy Tomas Watson, Anthony Zelane Watson, CaLeif Mahone, Robert Mahone; and great grandchildren: Civers Djuan Reese “CJ”, Alonzo Dwayne Massey “Zo”, and Sincere Luster; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
