EARMA JEAN POWELL SINGLETON, born on June 26, 1938, departed this life on August 13, 2025, at her home in Mesquite, Texas. In a journey that spanned nearly nine decades, Earma touched countless lives with her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to family and friends.
Earma, a licensed barber and cook, also dedicated years of her life to Unifirst Corporation, where she not only excelled in her career but became a guiding presence to her coworkers. Her personality was a unique blend of sternness and sweetness; she had an uncanny ability to keep people on the straight and narrow while providing a warm touch of care and concern. Never one to shy away from the truth, her brutally honest insights were always given with love, serving as both motivation and upliftment to those fortunate enough to know her.
In every room she entered, Earma never met a stranger. Her innate nurturing qualities made her a confidante, a mentor, and a source of strength for many. She had a remarkable talent for building connections and ensuring that everyone felt valued and heard.
Earma took pride in her family, relishing the roles of mother, grandmother and sister. Family gatherings were a highlight of her life, where laughter, stories, and love intertwined. She shared countless moments full of joy with her siblings, as well as indulging in her passions, like fishing and watching her favorite soap operas, which brought her peace and happiness.
Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in her independence and her cherished role as a grandmother. Each grandchild brought her immense joy, and she loved watching them grow, guiding them with her wisdom and love.
As we gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Earma Jean Powell Singleton, we invite family and friends to join us in remembrance. Visitation will be held on August 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. A prayer service will follow at 6:00 PM on the same day. The funeral service will take place on August 23, 2025, at Tabernacle of Praise, starting at 1:00 PM.
Earma will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her caring nature and the indelible mark she left on all our hearts. Her legacy of love and guidance serves as a testament to the extraordinary woman she was.
