EDNA FAY WASHINGTON

EDNA FAY WASHINGTON, a radiant soul whose presence could light up the dimmest room, departed this life on May 18, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas. Born on September 30, 1957, in the vibrant city of Dallas, she embodied loyalty and dependability, characteristics that made her a cherished figure in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Fay's laughter echoed through the halls of her beloved home, where every moment was an opportunity for connection, celebration, or simply sharing a story. A nurturing daughter, devoted sister, loving aunt, and friend.  Fay's directness and heartfelt affection helped mold the bonds that united her family.

She was a hard worker, engrossed in every task she undertook, and took pride in her accomplishments. Fay remained resolutely self-sufficient, a testament to her resilient spirit and determination. Her enthusiastic love for the Dallas Cowboys was matched only by her passion for Lotto scratch-offs and pull-tabs, hobbies that reflected her playful nature and zest for life. Fay found joy in the simple pleasures—curling up on her couch to watch captivating episodes of "The Young and the Restless," "Bold and Beautiful," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Law and Order," and the ever-exciting "Wheel of Fortune."

Additionally, her affection extended to her cherished poodle, "Sugar" , whom she adored and cared for with a devotion that mirrored her love for those around her. The memories of her first poodle, "She She", also linger in the hearts of loved ones, encapsulating the joy Fay derived from the connections she formed, both human and animal.

Family and friends are invited to honor Fay’s remarkable life during the forthcoming services held at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas. The viewing will take place on May 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, followed by a wake service later that evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Fay’s funeral service will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home  on May 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

As we gather to celebrate Edna Fay Washington—a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend—let us remember her infectious spirit and the loyalty that defined her. Though she may have left this world, her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will forever resonate in our hearts.
