Elmer Ray Grant was born to TJ Gipson and Mae Bell Wadkins on October 27, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.
Elmer was educated in the Dallas Independent School District. He joined the church at an early age where he learned to play the guitar. He later became an independent Truck Driver for 35 years. He also did handy work on the side. His hobby was reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Those who will cherish his memories are: Tracy Lewis (Raymond) and Keenan Ray Grant (Shakietha) of Dallas, Texas. Five Grandchildren (Keenan, Chaccara, Brittney, Seantrel, and Keanna) and Eight Great Grand. Six Sisters (Calversia Byrd, Gertrude Armstead, Willie Mae Taylor, Kathleen Thomas, Sadie Gipson and Jo Ann Money (Robert).
